You will never come up with the right business idea

In fact, your idea doesn’t matter. At all.

I used to fantasise about becoming an entrepreneur. I told myself I would make the jump if I just had the right idea.

The classic advice is to solve a problem that you’re having. But this led me down the path of starting an online shop for vegan protein bars because I found them hard to buy.

Then I was told that it should be a passion. But I didn’t have a clear passion.

The reality is that your idea will change when it meets the market.

Take Shopify. All they planned to do was build a site where they could sell snowboarding gear.

Or even Starbucks. They started off selling espresso makers and coffee beans before ever opening a cafe.

It’s not about getting it perfect. It’s about experimenting.

Get out of your head and get into the world. Just start.
